Why are you running for Fort Bend County district clerk?
I'm running for FBC District Clerk because I believe experience matters. With a background in public safety, city management and hands-on court experience, I understand the operations and need for accuracy and efficiency. I'll protect court records, respect the public and support the staff.
What are your qualifications for why you’d be a strong candidate in this role?
As a former corporate executive, I've managed large corporate budgets. I've served as a chief of police, city manager and a deputy clerk handling official records. These experience prepare me to run the District Clerk's Office with accuracy, efficiency and with respect for the people it serves.
If elected, what will be your top priorities?
The top priorities I see are managing the workload and protecting the integrity of the court records. We manage the workload by addressing bottlenecks in the current system and using appropriate technology for speed and accuracy. We address court records by focusing on accuracy and sensitivity.
What should the county's budgeting priorities be?
In my opinion, the county should be operating with a zero-based budgeting in every department and office with a focus on public safety. Also important are appropriately staffing and funding the court and justice system, updating critical [information technology] systems where needed, health & social services and infrastructure & mobility.
How do you plan to continue preparing for population growth as the county nears 1 million residents?
Special attention should be made to educating clerks on legal, technical and compliance issues with a focus on service to the public, retaining skilled personnel with competitive compensation and jury management with an online portal for better communication with potential jurors.

Why are you running for Fort Bend County district clerk?
Fort Bend County residents deserve a District Clerk’s Office that is efficient, responsive and accountable. Too many people experience delays and poor communication. I am running to improve customer service, restore trust and ensure the office works for taxpayers, not against them.
What are your qualifications for why you’d be a strong candidate in this role?
I have experience in organization, compliance, and customer service, with a strong focus on accuracy and accountability. I understand how to manage records, support staff performance and run an office efficiently while following the law and serving the public.
If elected, what will be your top priorities?
My top priorities are improving customer service, reducing delays, strengthening communication and holding staff accountable to clear performance standards while ensuring the office operates accurately, legally and efficiently for the public.
What should the county's budgeting priorities be?
Budgeting should focus on essential services, efficient staffing, technology that improves operations and responsible spending. Taxpayer dollars should be protected through careful oversight, reduced waste and investments that improve service without unnecessary expansion.
How do you plan to continue preparing for population growth as the county nears 1 million residents?
I will prepare by hiring qualified staff, setting performance expectations and improving systems that scale with growth. An efficient, well-managed office ensures residents continue to receive timely service while protecting taxpayers as the county grows.
