Fort Bend County residents have the opportunity to represent their area through several county positions on the ballot in 2026.

On the ballot

The candidate filing period for the March 3 primary election opened Nov. 8 and runs through Dec. 8, according to the Texas Secretary of State’s website.

Several key county positions are on the ballot, including:
  • County judge
  • Precinct 2 commissioner
  • Precinct 4 commissioner
  • County clerk
  • District attorney
  • District clerk
Additionally, several County Court at Law, District Judge and Justice of the Peace seats are also up for election. To see the full list, click here.

Going forward


The primary election will take place March 3, with early voting from Feb. 20-27, according to the Texas Secretary of State’s website.

The winners of the primaries will face off in the Nov. 3, 2026, election with early voting slated for Oct. 19-30.
