Missouri City candidates have maintained their leads as initial votes begin to come in.
By the numbers
Fort Bend County data shows incumbent Robin J. Elackatt continues to lead former City Council member Jeffrey L. Boney with 7,007 and 5,398 votes, respectively.
Meanwhile, incumbent Sonya Brown-Marshall maintains the lead for City Council At-Large Position 1 race with 8,481 votes, trailed by Shad Bogany with 3,509 votes.
Additionally, incumbent Lynn Clouser continues her lead in the City Council At-Large Position 2 race with 8,686 votes, followed by Dinishi Abayarathna with 2,438 votes and Bruce Zaborowski with 870 votes.
In the special election, Sharita L. Thompson maintains the lead in the District B race with 1,870 votes, followed by James Davidson is with 1,000 votes.What's next?

Early voting totals from the Nov. 4 election are in for the city of Missouri City’s mayor position and three City Council seats.
What residents need to know
Early voting results from Fort Bend County show incumbent Robin J. Elackatt is leading the mayoral race with 5,133 votes, followed by Jeffrey L. Boney with 3,984 votes.
Meanwhile, incumbent Sonya Brown-Marshall leads the City Council At-Large Position 1 race with 6,225 votes, followed by Shad Bogany with 2,588 votes.
Additionally, incumbent Lynn Clouser has taken the lead in the At-Large Position 2 race with 6,492 votes, followed by Dinishi Abayarathna with 1,818 votes and Bruce Zaborowski with 553 votes.
What else?
The city is also hosting a special election for District B, which is an unexpired seat vacated as Boney runs for mayor. The winners will hold the seats until term expiration in November 2027.

Fort Bend County saw 47,325 voters cast their ballots during early voting Oct. 20-31, according to early voting statistics from Fort Bend County. Early voters represented nearly 8.44% of the county's 560,979 registered voters.
About the candidates
Boney, an entrepreneur, former bank executive and journalist, said in a questionnaire with Community Impact that he chose to run because he is stepping in with a “purpose and a track record that speaks volumes.” His top priority includes building a city that works for every resident regardless of ZIP code, subdivision or home value by becoming a destination and scenic city that thrives by investing in its people.
Meanwhile, Elackatt, who currently serves as the city’s mayor, said in the questionnaire he chose to run because Missouri City is his home and he believes in its potential. His top priorities include strengthening the core of the city by focusing on public safety, infrastructure and neighborhoods.
Both Bogany and Brown-Marshall are in the real estate business, while Abayarathna is a management consultant, Clouser is a community relations manager, and Zaborowski is retired from Verizon wireless operations, according to their questionnaires.
Additionally, Davidson is a senior communications consultant, while Thompson is the founder of Crown Legacy Consulting.
