Why did you choose to run for this position?
I am running for Sugar Land City Council at-large Position 2 to preserve what makes Sugar Land great while helping guide the city towards its promising future. Both At-Large incumbents William [Ferguson] and Jennifer [Lane] asked me to run for their seat because they believe in my leadership and trust my decision-making.
What is your top priority if elected to represent the citizens of Sugar Land?
My top priority is to maintain Sugar Land as the premier city in Fort Bend County. Sugar Land is a great place to start and raise a family and has a strong community feel. It is our duty as residents and council to keep it that way.
What do you think is the most pressing issue for local residents, and what will you do to address it?
Sugar Land lost over 10,000 population since 2019, 8% of its residents. This is concerning and merits study for a solution. Speculation includes loss of employment opportunity, cost of housing and a lack of housing inventory. The city cannot be complacent and must attract young families to maintain vitality.
What else can the city do to encourage redevelopment of older city areas?
To encourage redevelopment, we need to attract employers and developers to do business in Sugar Land. We’ve been bleeding significant employers (Fluor, Noble, Minute Maid) and have made it difficult for developers to work on projects in Sugar Land. It is a top priority to turn this around.

What do you think is the most pressing issue for local residents, and what will you do to address it?
To address the pressing issue of residents who feel left out of key decisions, I would foster collaboration and prioritize initiatives involving residents from all backgrounds in town hall meetings and community forums. I will ensure that everyone has a say in the decisions that affect their lives.
What else can the city do to encourage the redevelopment of older city areas?
To encourage the redevelopment of older areas, the City Council could implement several strategies, including investing in infrastructure upgrades, creating programs that focus on beautification, like streetscape improvements and more green spaces, preserving historically significant buildings, and designing a marketing campaign emphasizing the potential of older neighborhoods
