Early voting ended Dec. 10 for the runoff election to determine who will replace Missouri City council member Anthony Maroulis.

What you need to know

The runoff for District C council member will conclude on Dec. 14, where voters will decide between Joanna Ouderkirk and Shad Bogany, who garnered 34.98% and 23.23% of the votes, respectively, in the Nov. 5 election. Oudekirk is a real estate agent, while Bogany is a broker.

Other candidates from the November election included Shaizad “Sam” Chatriwala with 20.14%, Mu Liu with 19.07% and Feven Gebremariam with 2.57%, according to canvassed final results.

By the numbers


Only 732, or 4.44%, of the 16,471 registered District C voters cast their ballots early through in-person appearances or mail-in ballots over the eight-day early voting period, according to data from the Fort Bend County Election’s Office.
At the polls

Only registered voters residing in District C, which includes the west and south sides of Missouri City, will be eligible to vote in the runoff election. To see the district maps, click here.

According to the city's website, election day polling locations will open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Dec. 14 at:
  • Quail Valley Fund Office board room, 3603 Glenn Lakes Lane, Missouri City
  • Sienna Annex community room, 5855 Sienna Springs Way, Missouri City
  • Lexington Creek Elementary gymnasium, 2335 Dulles Ave., Missouri City


When heading to vote, registered voters should bring proper identification options, including a Texas driver’s license, personal identification card, handgun license, military ID card or U.S. passport, according to the Texas Secretary of State website.


What’s next?

Following canvassing the Dec. 14 results, the new District C council member is tentatively scheduled to be sworn in on Dec. 19, Missouri City Deputy Secretary Jerrell Horace said in an email.
