Thai Town, a new Thai eatery and bar, soft opened in Sugar Land in April, restaurant staff said.

The details

Founded by best friends, chef Ten Sampaotong and Kat Kannoi, the owners share a deep-rooted passion for delivering authentic Thai cuisine to the heart of Texas, according to an emailed statement from the restaurant's managing partner.

Sampaotong crafts each dish from scratch, and the menu blends flavors from across Thailand in an effort to showcase the diversity of the country's culinary landscape, per the email.

On the menu

According to their social media, must-try items on the menu at Thai Town include chicken satay, a dish made with grilled, marinated chicken with coconut milk, curry powder, turmeric and peanut sauce; and shrimp dumplings topped with fish roe.

Other menu items include popular Thai dishes, such as Thai Thom Yum, a hot and sour soup; pad thai noodles; and a northern Thailand-style curry called Khao Soi.

Staff are planning for a grand opening in June.
