What you need to know

Atlanta-based eatery Flying Biscuit Cafe was originally set to open in Richmond last summer but is now slated to open this spring. Representatives with the eatery said the new restaurant will open on a Monday with a week of $1 and $5 specials.

There are 32 Flying Biscuit restaurants across six states, with three more anticipated to open in the Houston area in 2024—including the Richmond location near the Grand Parkway.

On the menu

According to the business's website, Flying Biscuit is famous for its grits and reportedly bakes 5,000 biscuits per week at each location. But the menu expands beyond these notable favorites to include breakfast, lunch, brunch and dinner options, such as French toast, burgers, a chicken cobb salad, and a chicken tender entree with macaroni and cheese as well as spicy collard greens.

The restaurant advertises gluten-friendly and vegan options, and will also cater events of any size.
