Pho Viet & Seafood hosted a soft opening Feb. 9 at 11420 Dairy Ashford Road, Ste. 100, Sugar Land, and there are plans to hold a grand opening on March 4, manager Athena Tran said.

The restaurant is owned by Athena Tran’s mother, Trang Tran, and father, Quoc Tran, who serve as head chefs at the eatery. After owning a restaurant in Vietnam for 23 years, the couple wanted to open their first U.S. restaurant, Athena Tran said.

“We have really good experience in this industry, and especially my mom and my dad who are the chefs cooking it,” she said. “So they make sure everything comes out at the right flavor.”

The Sugar Land restaurant serves Vietnamese cuisine fused with Cajun influences. The menu features traditional Vietnamese dishes, such as pho, banh mi and fried rice, as well as Cajun-inspired dishes, including fresh crawfish and other boiled seafood, such as crab, mussels and shrimp.

During the grand opening March 4, Athena Tran said they will offer 10% off the total bill and an extra 5% off if customers leave a review for the eatery.
