The National Weather Service is calling for a 30 percent chance of thunderstorms and a high of 87 degrees this Saturday, but those willing to take a chance can expect some events to take place in Sugar Land and Missouri City. See what is on the calendar:

Paper shredding event 
Co-hosted by Missouri City Green and the Missouri City Parks and Recreation Department, the event offers free, secure on-site paper and CD shredding by vendor ProShred. Items are also recycled. There is a limit of five boxes per household, and businesses are not eligible to participate. 9 a.m.-noon. Free (Donations to fund future recycling events are welcome). 13th annual Spring Corvette Car Show
The Corvette Owners Club of Houston presents the event, which features more than 100 Corvettes. Attendees vote for the winner of the People’s Choice Award. All proceeds benefit the Fort Bend Rainbow Room and Arc of Fort Bend. 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Free (admission for spectators). Houston’s Coolest Crawfish Boil
Platters of spicy crawfish with all the fixings and cool drinks are served up at The Club at Riverstone.
