Fort Bend County has opened a COVID-19 vaccination center at the Houston Community College campus in Missouri City, according to a Missouri City press release.

The site opened Feb. 2 and is distributing up to 700 doses of the vaccine per day as supply allows, according to the release. Next Level Urgent Care is staffing the location.

Fort Bend County residents must have an appointment to get a vaccine, and walk-ins are not allowed. Registration for the COVID-19 vaccine through the county is currently closed and will reopen as the county receives more supply.

To be eligible to receive a coronavirus vaccine, individuals must be in Phase 1A or 1B of the state's distribution plan. Currently, this includes frontline heath care workers, residents at a long-term care facility, residents age 65 and older, and those age 16 and up with a chronic medical condition that puts them at risk for a severe illness from COVID-19.

Fort Bend County previously partnered with Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Hospital to open a drive-thru COVID-19 vaccination site at the Smart Financial Centre.
