Fort Bend County Health & Human Services confirmed 60 new cases of the coronavirus June 30, along with 25 additional recoveries.

Additionally, FBCHHS reported the death of a woman in her 80s, the county's 54th coronavirus-related death.



The 60 new cases brings the county's total coronavirus case count to 3,782. With 1,323 recoveries and 54 deaths, there are 2,405 active cases.

In the month of June alone, Fort Bend County reported 1,921 coronavirus cases, which represents 51% of the county's total cases.



Data from the Southeast Texas Regional Advisory Council shows there are 43 patients with suspected or confirmed cases of the coronavirus in Fort Bend County intensive care unit beds June 30, down 13 from that recorded a day prior. There are an additional 139 people being treated for the virus in Fort Bend County general hospital beds.

Due to rising case counts and an increase in the county's positivity rate, Fort Bend County Commissioners Court approved an extension to its mandatory mask order. Under the order, employees and patrons are required to ware a face covering inside county businesses through July 31.
