Fort Bend County is reporting 94 new cases of the coronavirus June 16, bringing the seven-day average of new cases in the county to nearly 39.

The 94 new cases represent one of the highest single-day increases in confirmed coronavirus cases since the pandemic began.



To date, the county has seen 2,496 coronavirus cases. Of these, 1,398 cases are considered active, and 1,048 patients have recovered.

The county is also reporting its 50th coronavirus-related death June 16. The resident who died was a woman in her 70s, Fort Bend County Judge KP George wrote in a Facebook post.

The charts below show some updated geographic information about coronavirus cases in Fort Bend County and the Sugar Land and Missouri City areas.




There are now more than three coronavirus cases per every 1,000 Fort Bend County residents.
