Fort Bend County is reporting 85 new cases of the coronavirus June 5. This is the second day in a row the county has reported more than 80 cases.
On June 4, the county reported 81 cases, the highest single-day total recorded since the coronavirus pandemic began. Today's count tops yesterday's figure.
Fort Bend County has seen a total 2,117 confirmed cases. Currently, there are 1,287 active cases, 783 recoveries and 47 deaths. Twenty Fort Bend County residents are hospitalized with the coronavirus.
In addition to the new cases, the county reported 48 recoveries and zero new deaths.
At the time of publication, the county had not updated its maps that show where in the county cases are located.
The county has administered 14,247 coronavirus tests across its five public testing locations. This number does not include tests performed by private health care providers.
According to the Texas Department of State Health Services, 71,613 cases have been reported statewide.
