Fort Bend County reported 48 new, confirmed cases of the coronavirus on May 13, the highest single-day case count increase since May 5. Additionally, the county is reporting 13 additional recoveries and zero new deaths.

As of May 13, there are a total of 1,452 confirmed cases countywide, including 1,163 active cases, 249 reported recoveries and 40 deaths. Forty-nine Fort Bend County residents are currently hospitalized because of the coronavirus.

Of the newly reported cases, eight were located within the city of Missouri City and four were located in Sugar Land. With 27 new cases, unincorporated Fort Bend County has 809 cases.

The five ZIP codes that make up the bulk of the Sugar Land and Missouri City communities are reporting a total of 568 coronavirus cases. The chart below shows the number of coronavirus cases per ZIP code, the population of each ZIP code and the number of cases per 1,000 residents.


Fort Bend County has tested a total of 6,511 residents between its five public testing locations. This number does not include tests administered at private clinics.
