CORONAVIRUS UPDATE: Fort Bend County now has more than 1,000 confirmed cases of the virus

With 45 new cases of the coronavirus reported April 29, Fort Bend County now has 1,018 confirmed positive cases.

Out of these cases, 867 are active, with 74 patients currently hospitalized from the virus.

The county is reporting no new deaths since April 28, keeping the total number of coronavirus deaths countywide at 24.

Statewide, the Texas Department of State Health Services is reporting 27,054 cases of the coronavirus. Fort Bend County has the sixth-most cases behind Harris, Dallas, Tarrant, Travis and Bexar counties.
