This brings the total coronavirus death toll in Fort Bend County to 20. According to county data, all of the 20 Fort Bend County residents to die from the coronavirus are age 60 or older.
The county reported 19 additional cases of the coronavirus April 23. Of those, four were located in Missouri City, and one was located in Sugar Land.
In all, Fort Bend County is reporting 889 confirmed positive cases of the virus, with the majority—494—occurring in unincorporated portions of the county. There are 143 cases in Missouri City, 136 in Fort Bend County and seven in Harris County. Sugar Land has 98 cases.
These case count numbers include active cases, recoveries and deaths. Of the 765 active cases in the county, 69 patients are hospitalized. No new recoveries were reported April 23.
