The city of Sugar Land, like many other cities across the county, has struggled to obtain N95 masks for essential employees who continue to work during the coronavirus pandemic, according to a video released by the city April 9.

In the video, Sugar Land Engineering Manager Keisha Seals asked residents to donate handmade masks to city employees.

“We are asking those in our community with sewing abilities to donate cloth masks that are crafted following the CDC’s guidelines,” Seals said.

Seals said the masks will be used by essential city staff, including those working at city facilities and on construction sites.
