Wyatt served on the council for the past 33 years, and Mayor Allen Owen recognized him at the Nov. 19 meeting for his years of service. “Things change, but I do have to say there are things I am proud of during my time, including getting toilets in all of the parks,” Wyatt said. “That creates activity in the park. I also instituted code enforcement in 1985 because I didn’t want to see Missouri City turned into a slum. Those things are near and dear to me.” In addition, Wyatt said he was proud to have worked with the council members and city employees, and urged everyone to support them, Edwards in her new position, and the city itself. “Elections are about change, but hopefully we are all going to be better for it,” he said.
