SL CC election Updated 11 p.m. With 100 percent of precincts reporting, the race in Sugar Land will come down to a run-off election to be held June 10 to decide the winner, as Fort Bend County election officials report Carol McCutcheon netting 36.35 percent of the vote, and Qaisar Q. Imam taking 33.82 percent. Sean Burnett ended the night with 29.83 percent of the vote. The results are unofficial until canvassed. Updated 8:30 p.m.

According to unofficial early voting results, this race is neck and neck. And neck. Qaisar Q. Imam has a tiny lead with 374 votes compared to Carol McCutcheon’s 371 votes. Sean Burnett trails them with 352 votes. All results are unofficial until canvassed. Posted 5:30 p.m.

Sean Burnett, Carol McCutcheon and Qaisar Q. Imam compete for the District 4 seat on the Sugar Land City Council

Carol McCutcheon, Sean Burnett and Qaisar Q. Imam are the three candidates vying for the open District 4 seat on the Sugar Land City Council. Burnett is vice-president of sales, marketing and training at Covia Health. He is a member of the Sugar Land Planning and Zoning Commission, and has served on other community boards including the Fort Bend Education Foundation and the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce. He is active with the boards of the Exchange Club of Fort Bend, the Fort Bend Rainbow Room and was recently named vice chair of the Committee for Civilian Engagement for the Association of United States Army. She serves on Sugar Land’s Land Use Advisory Committee and she previously served on the City Charter Review Commission.
