2. Gregory Boulevard
Pavement reconstruction is progressing along Gregory Boulevard from Fondren Road to McLain Boulevard, and the city of Missouri City is contributing $3.3 million to the project. In early November, the contractor switched traffic to the eastbound lanes and began working on the westbound lanes. Roadway construction is scheduled to end in the summer of 2017.

Estimated timeline: March 2016-summer 2017

3. Hwy. 90
The Texas Department of Transportation is widening Hwy. 90 in Sugar Land from Hwy. 6 to the Grand Parkway. The road will be widened from four lanes to six lanes across. Durwood Greene Construction is the contractor for the project. As of Oct. 19, the project was 48 percent complete, and the end date was set for the third quarter of 2017. Agency spokesperson Deidre George said a right of way was still being acquired for the project.

Estimated timeline: March 2016-spring 2017

4. University Boulevard North
University Boulevard North in Sugar Land is being extended approximately 1,000 feet from Union Pacific Railroad to connect to Stadium Drive. The project includes the relocation of Union Pacific Railroad’s single track that leads to Nalco Champion. The City is waiting on Union Pacific to complete the rail raising and connection of the new spur track,  which the city said would likely last until the end of the year. Once Union Pacific Railroad’s work is complete, the city’s contractors will resume construction for the final roadway connections to the rail crossing.

Estimated timeline: August 2015-winter 2016 (Phase 1)

5. LJ Parkway
Lowering of LJ Parkway in Sugar Land from University Boulevard to Hagerson Road is complete. The contractor demolished, lowered and repoured all lanes due to a visibility issue for drivers turning from LJ Parkway onto Hagerson Road. Some work remaining includes re-establishing irrigation and restoring the landscape both in the reserves and in the median.

Estimated timeline: July-October
