As the new year kicks off, there are several new businesses slated to open in 2025 in Sugar Land and Missouri City, as reported by Community Impact. This list is not comprehensive.

1. Trill Burgers

Houston rapper Bun B will expand his smashburger concept to Missouri City and Spring in 2025. The restaurant’s flagship location opened in Montrose in June 2023.2. Buttermilk Baby

A vintage American soda fountain-style diner is coming to Sugar Land Town Square this year, featuring comfort-style food. The first location opened in the M-K-T development in September.3. Fogo de Chão

The Brazilian steakhouse could take the spot of the former Department of Wonder location in Sugar Land Town Square, according to project filing information with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. The restaurant offers a full churrasco experience and boasts self-serve buffet stations.4. Scenthound


The hygiene and grooming salon for dogs will offer basic hygiene and barber treatments in Sugar Land. Additional services include tooth plaque reduction and shedding treatments.5. Chicken Salad Chick

The fast-casual chicken salad chain will expand to Missouri City. The eatery offers dozens of chicken salad options alongside sandwiches and soups.6. 16 Handles

The New York-based frozen yogurt chain will bring 16 rotating yogurt flavors with more than 50 topping options to Missouri City. This location will be the second in the Houston area, presided by the opening of the Montgomery location in November.7. ZT Records

The Texas-based record store will open a fourth location in First Colony Mall offering records, CDS, cassette tapes and posters. The store was founded in Frisco in 2011 before expanding to The Woodlands and Arlington in 2023 and 2024, respectively.8. Paradigm Combat Sports Training


The combat sports gym offering adult and youth classes is coming to Sugar Land. The gym will offer adult programs in martial art forms such as Brazilian jiujitsu, Muay Thai and boxing, as well as youth programs in boxing and fitness.

9. Jet’s Pizza

The Detroit-style pizza chain will bring pizza options alongside boneless and bone-in wings, and desserts to Missouri City. The chain has 22 locations across the state.

10. Prime Deli and Bakery

The business will offer baked goods such as croissants, bagels and sandwiches in the Ashford Lakes shopping center.

The Vietnamese restaurant is set to bring pho, banh mi sandwiches, egg rolls and Vietnamese iced coffee to the Sugar Land area. Other locations include Pearland, Katy, Tomball, the Heights and Friendswood.
