Boutique infrared yoga studio Yesyoga will close its location at Sugar Land Town Square permanently in mid-July, the owner said.

What we know

Yoga instructor and owner Erin Cummings said she decided not to renew her lease at the retail center after nearly six years of business.

Originally opened in 2018, the studio fulfilled a need in the fitness industry Cummings said she hadn't seen elsewhere. However, her vision no longer "fits the direction of Sugar Land Town Square," she said.

"I had been teaching yoga for a long time and felt the community needed to focus on yoga more as a functional movement," Cummings said. "But a lot of things have changed since COVID-19, even the way people work out."

All class packages and gift cards must be used and will be honored before the studio closes July 14, and refunds won't be issued for unused classes, according to a post on business' Instagram.

A quick note

Cummings said she is grateful for the support she has received from clients, many of whom have been members since 2018.

"It's been an awesome community of amazing people," she said.
