After 40 years of service in Sugar Land, Elegant Jewelers is closing as its owners, Patty and Frank Wedemeier, retire.

An exact closing date has not yet been determined, owners of the the family-run jewelry store said. That timeline will be based on the sale of the store's merchandise, which includes a wide range of engagement rings, wedding bands, custom pieces, conflict-free loose gems and fine jewelry.

The jeweler's closing sale, which includes some pieces up to 70% off, will be ongoing until the business is permanently shuttered.
