Uptown Cheapskate, a buyback retail clothing store, will bring one of its newest locations to 13574 University Blvd., Ste. 500, Sugar Land.

The company has announced via social media the official groundbreaking at its newest retail spot in June. According to project registration records, the store will boast 4000 square feet of retail space alongside a 600-square-foot mezzanine area with an expected completion date of December 2023.

Uptown Cheapskate offers customers an opportunity to buy and sell their appreciated vintage or lightly used clothing through their brick-and-mortar locations.

“We offer between 25% and 35% of what we price items in cash. We pay a higher percentage for high-demand brands like Lululemon, Free People or Zara. We pay a little less for mass-produced brands,” according to the website.

Uptown Cheapskate offers a consignment program for high-end luxury brands, such as Gucci or Louis Vuitton. Consignment allows customers to drop off luxury goods at an agreed selling price. Once the store has sold the goods to a new customer, the store will take a small percentage and give the original customer the shared profit.
