Abercrombie & Fitch has officially closed its Sugar Land location at First Colony Mall, the American lifestyle retailer has confirmed with Community Impact Newspaper.

The store, at 16535 Southwest Fwy., Ste. 40, Sugar Land, permanently shuttered its doors at that location on Jan. 16, the company confirmed through social media.

The company—first founded in 1892 and known for its jeans, shoes, tops and outerwear for men and women—also operates Abercrombie Kids, Hollister Co. and Gilly Hicks, according to its website, including stores across the United States, Canada, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. As of the third quarter of 2021, Abercrombie & Fitch operated over 730 retail stores, according to its website.

The company has closed dozens of its stores in recent years, however, according to filings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. In fiscal year 2020 for example, Abercrombie & Fitch closed 137 stores, cutting square footage by approximately 1.1 million gross square feet compared to the end of fiscal year 2019, according to the SEC filings. www.abercrombie.com/shop/us
