The city of Missouri City has named Laura Beuhring as the first golf director at Quail Valley Golf & City Centre.

Beuhring, who assumed the role Jan. 7, will be responsible for bringing vision and innovation to the Quail Valley Golf Course, according to a Jan. 2 Facebook post. Quail Valley is made up of two public golf courses—La Quinta and El Dorado—and City Centre, a multipurpose building.

A closer look

Beuhring has over 25 years of experience in the golf industry, serving most recently as a general manager for Park Mammoth Golf Club in Park City, Kentucky, she said in an email.


According to her LinkedIn profile, she held a variety of positions including:
  • General manager at Sewailo Golf Club in Tucson, Arizona
  • Head golf professional for the city of Denver, Colorado
  • Tampa Sports Authority in Tampa, Florida
Additionally, she holds a masters of business administration degree from Northern Kentucky University, per her LinkedIn profile.

“I am one to embrace change—not everyone feels this way. I tend to look forward, well into the future, when I take on a new project,” Beuhring said in an email. “Quail Valley Golf Course is in need of a few changes, but we are sensitive to tradition at the same time. We hope to create something new and exciting for all of the community members and guests.”

The appointment comes as City Centre is undergoing repairs from the city’s $2.18 million in damage from Hurricane Beryl. Additionally, the La Quinta course is undergoing $5.6 million in renovations to improve course playability and aesthetics.
