Theater and technology entertainment concept Department of Wonder has officially opened its doors to the public.

The Department of Wonder opened Friday, Oct. 7, at Sugar Land Town Square at 2180 Lone Star Drive, according to an Oct. 7 announcement.

The 10,000-square-foot venue combines interactive theater with emerging technologies as guests participate in a mixed-reality quest, given a lantern and tasked with bringing light to the darkness by unraveling stories and solving puzzles, according to the announcement. The concept is designed for both adults and kids.

Bringing this concept to life is a team of storytellers, technologists, designers and producers, including Academy Award-winning Director Brandon Oldenburg, Emmy Award-winning Director Limbert Fabian, Kyle Clark, Taylor Williams and Rickey Crum. 281-302-5598. www.deptofwonder.com
