Summer is here, and the Sugar Land-Missouri City area is full of events available for the whole family to attend, from Netflix shows on tour at Smart Financial Centre to the 19th Juneteenth annual concert in the park hosted by the Missouri City Juneteenth Celebration Foundation.

Here is a noncomprehensive list of Sugar Land-Missouri City events in June and July.

June 10: Watch a Netflix show come to life

The cast of the hit Netflix show “Cheer” is going on tour and coming to the Smart Financial Centre in Sugar Land. The performance will feature cheerleaders from Navarro College and Trinity Valley Community College along with cheer coach Monica Aldama. 7:30 p.m. $29.95-$149.95. June 13-17: Learn how to rock

June 18: See a tribute band

Houston-based Eagles tribute band the Texas Eagles will play a performance at Sugar Land Town Square. The band formed in 2019 and will be performing the biggest hits made famous by the Eagles. 7:30-9:30 p.m. Free. June 18: Celebrate Juneteenth


The Missouri City Juneteenth Celebration Foundation will host multiple events to celebrate Juneteenth but will be having its 19th annual concert in the park June 18. Juneteenth is a holiday that commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans. 6 p.m. Free. July 4: Watch the fireworks

The city of Missouri City will have its annual Independence Day Festival. The city is still waiting to release additional details, but previous festivals have included live music, free entertainment and various vendors. 4-9 p.m. Free. July 4: Commemorate the Fourth of July


The city of Sugar Land will also have its own Fourth of July celebration to help commemorate the national holiday. The event will feature food, activities, vendor booths, live music and a fireworks display. 6-10 p.m. Free. July 6: Go to a baseball game

The newly rebranded Sugar Land Space Cowboys will have a series of home and away games this summer. For the July 6 game, the Space Cowboys will play a home game against the El Paso Chihuahuas, and the stadium will serve $1 hot dogs. 7:05 p.m. $7-$57.
