Benefit concert
Listen to a mix of Motown, funk and smooth jazz from Collector’s Item at the Sugar Land Town Square, and learn about Caiden’s Hope, a Houston-area charity helping to pay the extraneous costs families incur while traveling to be with a baby during a hospital stay. Snow cones will be for sale with half the proceeds donated to Caiden’s Hope Foundation. Representatives of Caiden’s Hope will be on hand providing information and answering questions about the issue. 7:30-9:30 p.m. Free. 15958 City Walk, Sugar Land.

Tennis tournament
Missouri City hosts a mixed doubles tennis tournament Saturday morning. Players in eighth grade and older are welcome to play in this tournament, which will be held in a round-robin format. Shred the Past at Sienna Plantation
Sienna Plantation hosts a paper-shredding event on Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. The public is invited to bring junk mail, old paperwork and any other paper documents for shredding to the Village of Sawmill Lake.

The shredding will be handled by Stafford-based ProShred while Sienna Plantation will provide ice cream trucks, fresh watermelon, bounce houses and jumpy slides.
