Sugar Land and Missouri City residents do not have to be of Irish heritage to participate in the holiday of drinking and celebrating the 5th century Catholic bishop and Ireland’s patron saint. Here are some local places that will be marking the day:

Bogie’s Pub & Grill

The Missouri City sports bar will celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with music from the Zach Tate Band. The event includes a Craziest Irish Costume Contest, green beer, crawfish, a beer pong tournament, shot and drink specials throughout the day.

After the drinking

On Sunday, Memorial Hermann hosts the seventh annual St. Paddy’s Day Half Marathon at Sugar land Town Square. Participants are encouraged to wear green and an Irish band will play near the finish line. 7:15 a.m. $70-$100 (depending on registration date); discounts are available for children and students.
