Center Stage Gallery off Hwy. 6 in Sugar Land will raise its profile this winter. The multipurpose events space and art gallery is an official vendor and venue for the 2017 Super Bowl in Houston.
Co-owner Pierre Jones said that Jan. 28-Feb. 5, Center Stage Gallery will host anyone who wants to be a game sponsor, from airlines and car dealerships to celebrity athletes and sports managers. The venue will also be a media lounge for Urban Houston Network and other TV outlets, while hosting parties in the evenings with guests including former NFL players Keenan McCardell and Aaron Glenn.
“[The NFL] wants everyone to deal with certain companies,” Jones said. “They pick companies that they believe are professional and can help bring something to the NFL.”
Center Stage Gallery opened in October 2012. Jones and co-owner Stacey Lewis showcase 14 eclectic artists in the venue, and the art gallery and different spaces are available for myriad events, including children’s birthday parties and corporate gatherings.
“It’s a place where you can just find yourself in deep conversations, whether it’s social, professional or fun—it’s hard to leave once you’re there,” Jones said. “We’re not a club, but we have a clubhouse feel.”
Center Stage regularly hosts Paint and Sip events in the evenings by reservation.
Membership packages include Gold ($150 per month) and Platinum ($400 per month), offering access to monthly and private events, discounts on wall art, social outings and other perks. Center Stage also has sponsorship packages available for businesses wanting to be involved in Center Stage’s Sugar Land Super Bowl Experience.
The business showcases artists from all walks of life, Center Stage event coordinator Dee Ford said.
“[We have] different age ranges, different cultures, and some people are like, ‘Oh, you’re a black art gallery,’” Ford said. “No, we’re everyone’s art gallery.”
