Democrat Todd Litton received 118,570 votes, or 45.38 percent of the vote. Libertarian candidate Patrick Gunnels and Independent candidate Scott Cubbler received 2,363 and 1,820 votes, respectively. Updated 10:10 p.m. Dan Crenshaw appears to have won the U.S. Representative District 2 seat with about 53 percent of the vote, and opponent Todd Litton has conceded. With 60 percent of precincts reporting, Republican candidate for U.S. Representative District 2 Crenshaw has received 123,652 votes, or 53.36 percent of votes, and Democratic opponent Litton has received 104,519 votes, or 45.11 percent of votes. Litton conceded the race to Crenshaw tonight, according to a news release from the Litton campaign. Crenshaw could not immediately be reached for comment. "While we came up short, I’m deeply humbled and gratified by the outpouring of support across Houston and the region," Litton said in the release. "I’m proud of the campaign we ran, based on common sense, civility, and the issues that matter most to Houstonians.” Libertarian candidate Eric Gatlin received 1,974 votes, or 0.85 percent of the votes, and independent candidate Scott Cubbler received 1,578 votes, or 0.68 percent of the votes. Posted 8:40 p.m. In the race for U.S. Representative District 2, early and absentee voting results show Republican candidate Dan Crenshaw received 100,836 votes, or 53 percent of the vote, and Democratic candidate Todd Litton received 86,821 votes, or 45.64 percent of the vote. Libertarian candidate Patrick Gunnels received 1,379, or 0.72 percent of the vote, and independent candidate Scott Cubbler received 1,207, or 0.63 percent of the vote. The two candidates are vying for the candidate previously held by Ted Poe, who retired this year. All results are unofficial until canvassed.
