Construction began April 10 on a project to widen Treaschwig Road, Harris County Precinct 3 officials announced in an April 11 news release.

About the project

The project will widen Treaschwig Road from a two-lane asphalt roadway to a four-lane concrete boulevard between west of Aldine-Westfield Road and west of Cypress Creek.

According to the release, the project will also include:
  • A sidewalk along the north side of Treaschwig Road
  • A raised median
  • A traffic signal at the intersection of Treaschwig Road and Trilby Way
  • Curb and gutter with storm sewer drainage
  • A large detention basin near Cypress Creek

"We're always looking to improve traffic and road safety here in Precinct 3, especially roads like Treaschwig, where we have families living nearby with children community to school each day," Precinct 3 Commissioner Tom Ramsey said in a statement. "I'm very proud to say our engineering team utilizes the highest set of standards to include elements in these road projects that not only enhance transportation, but also improves safety."
