Work is underway on a project to replace the I-45 southbound frontage road bridge over Cypress Creek. According to Danny Perez, public information officer for the Texas Department of Transportation, the project’s estimated cost has increased from $6.7 million to $8.6 million due to increased material costs as well as costs associated with expediting the project to be completed by summer 2023.

"We continue to make great progress and if the opportunity arises to get the bridge open sooner, we will certainly do our best to make that happen," Perez said in an emailed statement. "We understand this has impacted the local community and we want to do all we can to minimize those impacts."
