Ongoing projects

1. Texas Department of Transportation’s $2.3 million Statewide Curb Ramp project on FM 1960, implemented to meet Americans with Disabilities Act requirements, has resumed construction after having been delayed by utility conflicts. It will be completed in mid-2019, TxDOT Public Information Officer Danny Perez said. Estimated timeline: October 2016-mid-2019 2. A $13.3 million joint project between Harris County Precinct 4 and Champions Municipal Utility District to upgrade Champions Drive from a two-lane asphalt roadway to a two-lane concrete pavement section is underway, said Pamela Rocchi, director of Precinct 4 Capital Improvements Program. Gosling Road Section 2 improvements Harris County Precinct 4 is widening the two-lane asphalt roadway to a four-lane concrete pavement section between West Mossy Oaks Road and West Rayford Road, including the bridge across Willow Creek. Timeline: March 21, 2018-Aug. 13, 2019 Cost: $9.4 million Funding source: Harris County Precinct 4 4. Gosling Road Section 3 improvements Precinct 4 plans to seek bid authorization in the second quarter of 2019 for the final design phase of a project to upgrade the two-lane asphalt roadway to a four-lane concrete boulevard with drainage between West Rayford Road and Creekside Forest Drive, Rocchi said. Timeline: TBD Cost: $6.5 million Funding source: Harris County Precinct 4 5. Holderrieth Road extension A project to extend Holderrieth Road as a five-lane boulevard with drainage between Calvert Road and Hwy. 249 has been delayed due to inclement weather and is slated for completion in second quarter 2019, Rocchi said. Timeline: Jan. 29, 2018-second quarter 2019 Cost: $6 million Funding source: Harris County Precinct 4 6. Hufsmith-Kohrville Road Segment 6 widening A project to widen Hufsmith-Kohrville Road from Mahaffey Road to FM 2920 is under construction and expected to open to the public March 1. The road is being widened from a two-lane asphalt roadway to a four-lane concrete pavement section with a traffic signal at Mahaffey Road, Rocchi said. Timeline: Jan. 29, 2018-March 1, 2019 Cost: $4.8 million Funding source: Harris County Precinct 4 7. Gleannloch Forest Drive widening Precinct 4 is in the design phase of a project to widen the two-lane road to four lanes between the Grand Parkway and 1,400 feet south of the Grand Parkway. Rocchi said the county went out for bid on the project Jan. 20, and the bidding and award process will take roughly 90-120 days to complete.
