Construction on a new low-income housing apartment complex is expected to begin in August in north Houston, according to a May 10 email from a spokesperson for developer Stewardship Development. The complex, dubbed Saddle Creek Village, is also being developed by East 43rd Street LLC.

Saddle Creek Village will consist of 72 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments for residents earning 60% or less of the average median income, according to the email. Features of this apartment complex will include:
  • An after-school learning center with tutoring available
  • A playground
  • Dog parks for large and small dogs
  • Full fencing around the complex with secure entry
  • A business center
The project will be funded by Harris County American Rescue Plan Act funds and is a 9% tax credit project, as previously reported by Community Impact.
