A new emergency dispatch center that will serve nearly half a million people in north Harris County is set to be housed in the Emergency Services District No. 16/Klein Fire Department facility at 16810 Squyres Road, Spring.

The operation, which will service fire response and emergency rescue calls, is being spearheaded by the Texas Emergency Communications Center.

According to TECC Executive Director Lori Broadrick, the new dispatch center will create a more unified operation for emergency services responders throughout the growing area.

“It is the natural next step in this area’s evolution to have a dedicated service to dispatch firefighter/EMTs,” Broadrick said. “I’m excited to lead this mission to ensure the best fire, rescue and emergency medical technician response possible from the moment you call 911. It is our mission to put your emergency first.”

Broadrick said the tentative start date for the new dispatch center is Sept. 3. www.kleinfiredept.com
