MD Anderson Cancer Center’s Northwest Houston Surgical & Specialty Care Center will be expanding its care offerings in January, according to a May 24 email from a company spokesperson.

The center will be opening an ambulatory treatment center with full capacity utilized within about 18 months from the initial launch. An outpatient diagnostic lab and two procedural suites will also be opened at the center.

Surgical services currently provided at the center are for patients with breast cancer, gynecologic cancers, melanoma, urologic cancers or “cancer-related pain,” according to the email. These services can include:
  • Robotic surgery options
  • Plastic surgery
The center currently has three operating rooms for surgical services for patients in the northwest Houston area who require a maximum overnight stay of 48 hours after surgery.
