CHI St. Luke’s The Vintage Hospital will begin 2017 with a new president, Roland Cruickshank, who joined the hospital this fall.
Cruickshank’s previous experience includes serving as vice president of operations at Houston Methodist Texas Medical Center. He replaces the hospital’s former president, Norman Stephens, who retired on Sept. 2.
Cruickshank said the hospital will continue to build its obstetric, oncologic and orthopedic services in the new year.
“We expect to provide comprehensive services that would prevent patients from having to go downtown or that would complement what the medical center offers,” Cruickshank said.
The hospital is also working with medical and nursing schools to develop a feeder system to allow it to stay ahead of physician and nursing shortages in Texas.
"We are very sensitive to the community needs," Cruickshank said. "We are building and recruiting physicians and nursing staff based on what’s best for the community."
The hospital also introduced a new vice president of patient care services this fall, Valerie Howell, who previously worked at Ben Taub and Quentin Mease Community hospitals.
CHI St. Luke's Health-The Vintage Hospital is located at 20171 Chasewood Park Drive, Houston.
