Mardi Gras Sip N Shop

Join Dragonfly Dreams Boutique for a family-friendly Mardi Gras celebration and Sip N Shop event in Old Town Spring. A wagon/stroller parade will be hosted with prizes awarded for the best Mardi Gras decorations. The event will also feature a DJ, beads, drinks and snacks for patrons to enjoy while shopping. Tax preparation assistance

Free tax preparation and e-filing services are being offered to the community via IRS-certified volunteers with Lone Star College-University Park. Volunteers speaking English, Ukrainian, Russian, Spanish and Arabic will be available. Spots are available by appointment only.

Fat Tuesday on The Plaza

Celebrate the last day of Mardi Gras at City Place with the square’s annual Fat Tuesday on the Plaza event, which will feature live jazz music from Hollimon’s New Orleans Style Band. Free king cake will be offered by Common Bond Bistro & Bakery, while supplies last and Louisiana-style eats will be sold at food truck Gumbo X-Press.Mardi Gras potluck

St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church is hosting a potluck dinner and Fat Tuesday parade open to the community. Celebrating Mardi Gras, the event will provide dessert and drinks. Attendees are asked to bring a dish serving 10-15 people based on the first initial of their last name: A-H should bring a vegetable dish, I-N should bring a side dish, and O-Z should bring a meat dish.
