Friday the 13th party
The Elixir Lounge Kava Bar, Prohibition Texas and Noble Street Tattoo Parlour have teamed up for this event to celebrate Friday the 13th. Customers who spend $13 at Elixir Lounge or Prohibition Texas can get a $13 discount for flash art tattoos at Noble Street with proof of purchase. Customers who show their tattoo from Noble Street can receive a $13 KR80M Blood Bag drink at Elixir Lounge or a $1.30 Black Cat shot at Prohibition Texas. At Elixir Lounge, attendees can get their fortune read by psychic Petrene Soames, enjoy $7 tiki drinks and listen to music from Babalon Working. Customers wearing Halloween costumes can also win prizes.

Compete in the second annual foam pumpkin decorating contest hosted by the Barbara Bush Branch Library. Families can create a pumpkin inspired by their favorite children’s book and drop the project off at the library to be judged. Awards will be given to the silliest pumpkin, fan favorite and overall winner. Multiple foam balls can be used as long as the total size of the project isn’t bigger than a basketball. One entry is permitted per family, and registration is required. Winners will be announced Oct. 25.

Enjoy dance performances in traditional styles of the Mexican states Nuevo Leon, Veracruz and Jalisco by the group Mixteco Ballet Folklórico. Held by the Cypress Creek Foundation for the Arts and Community Enrichment, this event will feature a Mexican hat dance; charros, or Mexican cowboys; and zapateados, an intricate style of dance meaning footwork.
