While Harris County and Spring and Klein ISDs may not have local elections this May, several Spring- and Klein-area municipal and public utility districts will be on the ballot May 6.

Dates to know:
  • Last day to register to vote: April 6
  • First day of early voting by personal appearance: April 24
  • Last day to apply for ballot by mail (received, not postmarked): April 25
  • Last day of early voting by personal appearance: May 2
  • Last day to receive ballot by mail: May 5 at 7 p.m. if carrier envelope is not postmarked, or May 8 at 5 p.m. if carrier envelope is postmarked by 7 p.m. at the location of the election on election day (unless overseas or military voter deadlines apply)
When to vote: During early voting, polls are open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. April 24-29 and May 1-2; and from noon-7 p.m. April 30. On election day, the polls are open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m.

Blima Public Utility District, bond election
  • Proposition A: The issuance of $30 million in total principal amount of bonds for water, sanitary sewer, and drainage and storm sewer systems to serve the district and the imposition of taxes, without limit as to rate or amount, sufficient to pay the principal of and interest on the bonds.

Proposition A:
The issuance of bonds in the amount of $48.18 million for water, sanitary sewer, and drainage and storm sewer systems and the levy of taxes, without limit as to rate or amount, in payment of the principal and interest on the bonds.

Northampton Municipal Utility District, bond election

Proposition A:
The authority of the district to issue $86 million of future bonds, for the purpose of making repairs, replacements, and additions to the district’s existing waterworks system, sanitary system; and drainage and storm sewer system or purchasing, acquiring and constructing further works, improvements, facilities, equipment and appurtenances for said system; and the levy of ad valorem taxes sufficient to provide for the payment of principal and interest on the bonds, and the issuance of bonds.


Proposition B: The authority of the district to issue $86 million of future bonds, for the purpose of refunding bonds issued for making repairs, replacements, and additions to the district’s existing waterworks system, sanitary sewer system; and drainage and storm sewer system or purchasing, acquiring and constructing further works, improvements, facilities, equipment and appurtenances for said system; and the levy of ad valorem taxes sufficient to provide for the payment of principal and interest on the bonds, and the issuance of bonds.

Proposition C: The authority of the district to issue $12.5 million of future bonds, for the purpose of funding parks and recreational facilities, making repairs, replacements, and additions to the district’s parks; and the levy of ad valorem taxes sufficient to provide for the payment of principal and interest on such bonds, and the issuance of bonds.

Proposition D: The authority of the district to issue $12.5 million of future bonds, for the purpose of refunding of bonds issued for the funding of parks and recreational facilities, making repairs, replacements, and additions to the district’s parks; and the levy of ad valorem taxes sufficient to provide for the payment of principal and interest on such bonds, and the issuance of bonds.
