The following are dates of note associated with the KISD's approved 2025-26 academic calendar:
- Aug. 4-12, 2025: Staff development
- Aug. 13: First day of school
- Sept. 1: Labor Day (student and staff holiday)
- Oct. 10: End of first grading period
- Oct. 13-17: Fall break (student holiday; staff development)
- Nov. 4: Election Day (student holiday; staff development)
- Nov. 24-28: Thanksgiving break (student and staff holiday)
- Dec. 17-19: Early dismissal for high school students
- Dec. 19: Last day of first semester; end of second grading period
- Dec. 22-Jan. 2, 2026: Winter break (student and staff holiday)
- Jan. 5-6: Student holiday; staff development
- Jan. 7: First day of second semester
- Jan. 19: Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (student and staff holiday)
- Feb. 9-10: Mid-winter break (student holiday; staff development)
- Feb. 12-13: Mid-winter break (student and staff holiday)
- March 13: End of third grading period
- March 16-20: Spring break (student and staff holiday)
- April 3: Student and staff holiday
- April 17: Student holiday; staff development
- May 25: Memorial Day (student and staff holiday)
- May 26-28: Early dismissal for high school students
- May 28: Last day of school; end of fourth grading period
- May 29-Jun. 2: Staff development
- June 3: Teacher exchange day
According to the approved calendar, elementary classes will run from 8:05 a.m.-3:25 p.m., intermediate classes will run from 8:55 a.m.-4:15 p.m. and high school classes will run from 7:10 a.m.-2:35 p.m.
