The Spring ISD community celebrated Momentum High School’s opening at its new campus with a ribbon-cutting held Nov. 28.

In case you missed it

MHS reopened for the 2023-24 school year—which began on Aug. 10—after relocating and undergoing renovations. MHS’ new building includes updated technology as well as a cafeteria, a full library and a gym—amenities not included at the school’s previous location, according to a July 11 news release from the district.

Previously housed in temporary buildings located behind Westfield High School on Ella Boulevard, MHS is now located in the former Spring Leadership Academy building.

Two-minute impact

MHS is a school of choice at SISD offering in-person and online courses to SISD students ages 13-26, according to a Nov. 30 news release from the district.

“MHS is the culmination of a dream our esteemed superintendent has had for a long time,” Principal Stacy Smith said Nov. 28, according to the news release. “[It is] a place where students from all walks of life—most of whom are facing what seem to be insurmountable odds—can attend school and reach the goal of graduation.”
