On Aug. 10, Spring ISD students were welcomed to the newly renovated and relocated Spring Leadership Academy. SLA’s new building features a renovated gym, new science classrooms, a new running track, a new stage, and spaces for art programs and career and technology education programs, according to a July 11 news release from the district.

SLA has 400 students enrolled for the 2023-24 school year, according to SISD’s news release, but enrollment is expected to grow to 600 students in two years. The new campus is twice the size of the old building to allow for growth.

SLA is a school of choice for SISD’s fifth, sixth and seventh grade students, according to the school’s website, and is led by Principal Kevin Banks. Previously located at 14450 TC Jester Blvd., Houston, SLA is now housed in the former Clark Primary School building.
