Klein ISD officials named two new campus principals during the Jan. 10 meeting of the board of trustees.

Beginning with the spring semester of the 2022-23 school year, Kimi Williams and Sarah Deckard will serve as principals of Hildebrandt Intermediate School and the Vistas High School Program, respectively.

Williams, who has been on staff with KISD since 2012, has served as a teacher, instructional coach and, most recently, assistant principal of Hildebrandt Intermediate School.

"I am so incredibly honored to continue to be at Hildebrandt," Williams said during the Jan. 10 board meeting. "We have an amazing family atmosphere—it is something as soon as you walk in that you feel. The teachers are extremely close to each other; ... the students are amazing; ... and I just am very grateful for this opportunity. So I thank you so much for giving that to me and allowing me to continue leading here in Klein at Hildebrandt, and I can't wait to see the amazing things that we continue to do."

Deckard, who has also been with KISD for several years, most recently served as associate principal of the Vistas High School Program.

"I just want to say thank you, [Superintendent Jenny] McGown, cabinet and our school board for entrusting me with the huge opportunity to be principal at Vistas [and] trusting my leadership to continue all the great things we're doing as Vistas," Deckard said. "But beyond me, [thank you for] recognizing ... that we needed a program that serves students that, for whatever reason, aren't as successful at a regular high school, ... but also [for] your continued support as we have also taken on early college that gives at-risk students the opportunity to take college courses and graduate with a high school diploma [and] an associate's degree. We simply could not do what we do without your support, so thank you."

The new principals officially welcomed students back to school at the start of the spring 2023 semester on Jan. 4.
