Klein ISD officials have canceled classes for Feb. 4 due to inclement weather from Winter Storm Landon.

According to district officials, the missed school day will not need to be made up due to inclement weather minutes already built into the district's 2021-22 school year calendar.

"We will continue to closely monitor the weather and will communicate a decision regarding events and extracurricular activities for Friday, Feb. 4, and Saturday, Feb. 5. KISD classes are scheduled to resume on Monday, Feb. 7," the announcement reads.

In anticipation of inclement weather, Klein ISD officials announced the cancelation of all after-school activities Feb. 3.

"Due to the potential for worsening road conditions, all Klein ISD after-school activities are canceled today, Thursday, Feb. 3 for the safety and well-being of our students and staff," the announcement reads. "For questions or concerns regarding these activities, please reach out to the coach or sponsor for more details."

As of 10:30 a.m. on Feb. 3, district officials had not yet announced a decision about whether classes would be held as planned Feb. 4.


"We are continuing to closely monitor the weather for a decision regarding Friday and will inform you of the decision as soon as possible," the announcement reads.
