Following guidance released by the Texas Education Agency on July 7, Spring ISD officials announced that its virtual town hall meetings will be postponed by one week to allow district officials time to develop another option for students that will provide daily on-campus learning for all grade levels.

The virtual town hall meeting in English will now be held July 20 at 6 p.m., and the one in Spanish will now be held July 21 at 6 p.m. Following both town hall meetings, a commitment form will be send to all SISD families via email in late July.

Spring ISD officials will host virtual town hall meetings in mid-July to allow parents and guardians to learn more about their students' options for returning to schools this fall, the district announced in a news release July 7.

As previously reported by Community Impact Newspaper, SISD will offer two learning options for students in the 2020-21 school year: the Safety First Hybrid Model, which will include a combination of both in-person and remote learning, and Empowered Learning At-Home, which will be strictly remote learning.

To further discuss these options with parents and guardians, the district will host virtual town halls via Zoom: one in English on July 13 at 6 p.m. and one in Spanish on July 14 at 6 p.m. The meetings will also be livestreamed via YouTube, and participants will be able to submit questions via the chat function on each platform. The district will send a commitment form to all SISD families via email July 15, in which families will need to choose the learning option that best suits their family's needs.

"We know our families want more details on both options, so we really hope they will join us for these virtual town halls," said Tiffany Dunne-Oldfield, SISD chief of communications and innovation, in a statement. "It will be a great opportunity to ask questions and address any concerns so our parents are able to choose when we send out the commitment forms."
