Klein ISD Future Farmers of America hosts its 50th annual livestock and project show Feb. 6-9 at the Klein ISD Multipurpose Center, located at 7500 FM 2920, Houston.

KISD FFA students begin preparing for the show in the beginning of the school year, said KISD FFA advisor Michael Brummond in an email. There will be about 500 students competing in the event, he said.

“Students raise projects and show them in a front of a judge at the chance to win and make auction,” Brummond said. “All money raised goes to the students.”

The event begins Feb. 6 at 6 p.m. with an agricultural science fair, a display of agricultural-mechanics projects and the showing of rabbits and breeding chickens. On Feb. 7., students will show chickens, turkeys, pigs and heifers; goats, lambs and steers, as well as floral designs will be shown Feb. 8. The auction starts at 1:30 p.m. Feb. 9, Brummond said.

There is no cost to attend the event.

“All are welcome,” Brummond said.
