Klein ISD

1. Klenk Elementary and 2. Zwink Elementary schools In the 2018-19 school year Klenk and Zwink elementary schools began co-piloting a Spanish two-way dual language pathway, and Klenk also began piloting a Vietnamese one-way dual language pathway. Instruction in both languages begins in kindergarten, and district officials said the schools plan to add a grade level of instruction in each upcoming year. 3. French Elementary School French Elementary School students  have participated in a fine arts integration program since 2018. The  approach to teaching uses  an art form to show understanding of academic concepts.

Spring ISD

4. Dekaney High School An automotive technology program launched this year through a partnership with Universal Technical Institute provides 45 students in grades 11-12 with experience at the nearby UTI facility at no cost to the district. 5. Westfield High School Westfield High School recently installed a new media technology lab for students following that career pathway. When the new SISD stadium opens in 2019, media technology students will be able to apply for paid internships at the stadium.

Private Schools

6. Northland Christian School The K-12 school is expanding its campus by more than 25,000 square feet in 2019. The school is moving its elementary campus from Bammel Church of Christ on FM 1960 to its secondary school campus at 4363 Sylvanfield Drive, Houston. The $2.5 million expansion was funded by a capital campaign held by the school, said Christina Bowden, director of community and foundation relations at the school.

Charter Schools

7. Harmony Public Schools was awarded an $8 million Education Innovation and Research grant in 2018 from the U.S. Department of Education to pioneer a new, early-education science and technology program for elementary students.
